We are a small company located in Kingsville, MO dedicated to manufacturing quality, handcrafted oak log homes and cabins. Our website's mission is to provide you with valuable information about our company and log home packages so that you can make an educated decision about log home ownership.
Schutt Log Homes, LLC offers an exclusive line of solid oak log kit cabins and homes. From the logs to the ceiling, flooring, and trim, every aspect of our kits is made by our mill facility! This makes us a one stop shop for your entire structural package and creates the setup for a beautiful and solid home! We offer several options to suit every situation.
We offer two options for your dream home: solid log or log siding. If you opt for the traditional solid log cabin, SLH uses the frontier style square oak log with chinking in between each log to insure best seal available. The square log style provides fewer places for water to pool and therefore less potential for rot (compared to round and/or D shape logs). The chinking provides a tight seal inside and out for better insulation value and lower energy bills.
If you prefer traditional construction or have an existing home or building but love the log look, SLH offers frontier style log siding. Our log siding consists of 7 1/2" wide 3/4" thick oak ship lap planking applied to conventional wall framing. Log sided houses and garages do not require any special construction methods to allow for settling and allow you greater flexibility to use dry wall or other materials to cover the interior walls. In addition, Schutt Log Homes offers butt & pass log ends to give the outside of the home a true full log look.
Lastly, I am extensively involved in every business transaction making for a comfortable partnership.
